With the amount of bra theft being reported on an increasingly regular basis, you could almost believe that bras have replaced jewelry, precious metal and even cold, hard cash as the No. 1 target for burglars and robbers. The number of stores that have recently had miscreants breaking in and stealing these treasured items of lingerie is so large that it’s beginning to look like there must be some kind of reason for the popularity of bras amongst the criminal fraternity. Have bras’ value on the stock market suddenly increased recently? Or perhaps there’s a newly robust black market compromised of people desperate for a high quality bra at ‘competitive’ prices?
The French are known for their sophistication, elegance and educated eye for fashion. Their approach to lingerie designing is no exception. After all, the word ‘lingerie’ is indeed used as a by-word for women’s underwear the world over. French bras, as a rule, ooze a subtle sexiness, punctuated by a beautiful creativity and true understanding of the meaning of luxury. As you’d expect from a country that has produced so many high-end fashion houses, France likes its bras to be made a certain way. French bras are created from the most gorgeous fabrics, using the most talented and dedicated craftsmanship. If you’re looking for a bra that could pass for a work of art, then look no further than France’s finest exports.

For such a little piece of material, some bras can seem awfully expensive. Most people don’t ever see your bra, so is it really worth splashing the cash on it? As long as it’s the right size and suits our body shape, surely it doesn’t matter if it’s $10 or $100, right? This is partly true. Price isn’t important—what matters is quality. Not all expensive bras are high quality, but you can bet that most cheap bras aren’t either. You should consider spending a little extra money on a high quality bra because of the quality, not because of the price tag. So exactly why is quality so important? Here are just a few reasons.
With summer upon us, there’s no doubt that you’ll be wearing T-shirt bras more often. T-Shirt bras are popular in the summer because they’re invisible under the thin tops and t-shirts we all love in summer. Because you'll be wearing your t-shirt bras more often in the summer months, you'll also be washing them more often. We hear plenty about how to wash bras in general, but how do you wash T-shirt bras in particular?
There are two basic methods: By hand, or in a machine.
With the summer months comes the opportunity to don tight-fitting T-shirts and lightweight sun dresses. Finding high quality seamless bras to go with your summer wardrobe plays a big part in ensuring you look your best during the long summer days and nights. The best T-shirt bras will be invisible underneath your outfits, giving your body the smoothest of silhouettes. Many T-shirt bras have molded cups, which also helps with giving you a nice, sleek shape beneath your clothes. So how do you go about finding the T-shirt bra that’s right for you?

A bra band is the horizontal strap that runs below your bra, all the way round. When you’re wearing your bra, the band rests directly below your breasts at the front, and between your shoulder blades and your waist at the back. The band is an important part of the bra in terms of support and how it affects the overall look of the bra underneath clothing. It’s vital that you choose a bra with a band that suits your particular shape and needs.
Support
A band that gives your chest proper support is a must. If you don’t get adequate support from your band, this puts extra strain on the bra’s shoulder straps. Bra straps under strain end up digging uncomfortably into your shoulders. You must wear a bra with the right size band in order to get enough support. If your shoulder straps are under too much strain, your band size is probably too large. Get yourself measured and always choose the right band size. It is just as important as choosing the right cup size.
Comfort
While too large a band size affects support, too small a band size can affect comfort. If you’re wearing an underwired bra with a band size that’s too small, the wiring can poke you. This is because the smaller the band size, the closer together the cups. If your band size is too small, your cups will be too close together. This leads to the wiring underneath the cups riding up and digging into your skin.
Band Width
Along with band size, it’s also important to get the width of the band right. The band width that’s right for you depends on your body shape and size. If you’re a plus sized woman, it’s best to go with a wider band. Wider bands give you more support along the sides, which is vital for those with larger breasts. Wide bands are also less likely to ride up on your back, dig into your skin, or get twisted out of place. Narrower bands that do this give the impression of “back fat” on larger bodies. This is especially unseemly if you’re wearing a shirt made out of tight or thin material, as the excess rolls of skin or fat are more visible.
If you have a petite body shape, however, you may be able to wear bras with narrower bands. In fact, you should wear narrower bands when wearing skimpy or revealing shirts. The band is less likely to peek through your clothing if it’s narrow.
Although a lot of attention is paid to bra cups and shoulder straps, the bra band is a vital component. Even if you know your cup size, it is worth getting professionally measured just to find out your correct band size. Once you know your correct band size, you’ll find it much easier to choose bras that offer you both comfort and support.
